Reconstructing Physiology Courses to Promote Flipped Learning

Although many teachers may already flip their classes by introducing various learning activities, it is still challenges to engage students in flipped learning. In this workshop, we discuss how to reconstruct a lecture-based physiology course to a more interactive course with flipped learning activities. This workshop includes 3 parts: (1) Benefits and challenges of flipped learning; (2)Reconstructing a physiology course and (3) Preparing students and teachers for a flipped learning. Intended learning outcomes: By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to(1) compare traditional and flipped learning;(2)Set learning objectives of higher order thinking and (3) design flipped learning activities and assessment strategies for students in flipped learning.
